An emergency hearing granted by a Nevada judge ended badly for undefeated champion boxer Floyd Mayweather. His request to get out of jail was denied.
Floyd’s lawyer told the court that his client is dehydrated and malnourished and is simply withering away behind bars, a situation that is rapidly taking a toll on his body and putting his boxing career in jeopardy.
It turns out the judge wasn’t impressed and Mayweather will get no reprieve from the three-month sentence that he began serving on June 1, after roughing up his girlfriend.
In her written decision, Melissa Saragosa called the situation “self inducted” and stated emphatically, “While the training areas and times provided to Floyd may not be consistent with his prior regimen, he is indeed provided sufficient space and time for physical activity if he so chooses.”
Prosecutor Lisa Luzaich had an interesting comment, “It’s jail. Where did he think he was going? The Four Seasons?”
