It’s been a crazy week for actor Daniel Baldwin, who filed for divorce from wife Joanne Smith Baldwin after she threatened to kill him with a knife. Under the circumstances, he felt it prudent to seek a restraining order for protection.
In a police report he stated: “Joanne came out of our bedroom and said she had just watched a documentary on women who killed their husbands. Then she said ‘Now I know how to do it, I understand why they did it. You have been warned. Move out of this house or I am going to kill you.'”
The conversation reportedly took place in front of the couple’s children. Their three-year-old asked: “Is mommy going to kill us?”
In court papers filed by the actor, he stated that his wife has a serious drinking problem and prior DUI’s.
To add to her woes, Baldwin’s wife was arrested Wednesday in Clackamas County, Oregon on a probation violation listed as driving under the influence of an intoxicant. The Portland jail website states that she is being held without bail.
The couple have been married for nearly four years. Their young children, Avis and Finley, are currently with their father.
