Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon thought that she might be delivering their twins on her birthday, but it turned out to be a false alarm.
Carey, who turned 41 today, tweeted: “So #dembabies really wanted 2 celebrate w/us/share the anniversary! I started having contractions last night..went 2 the hospital.”
She went on to explain on Twitter: “They almost came on 3/27 – happy anniversary indeed!!! We have a few more weeks 2 go but-wow!!!”
Nick had a few things to say as well: “I am probably going to faint in the delivery room! I need to man up!”
Why the reference to Mimi’s anniversary rather than her birthday? She reportedly had a difficult childhood that caused her to grow up too quickly, and in the past few years she has decided to revert back to being a kid whenever she can.
Mariah told both Oprah and Ellen several years ago: “For better or worse… I am eternally 12. I’m stuck in seventh grade and I just keep getting left back. I have held on to that beautiful quality of childhood.”
