It’s official …
The Oprah Winfrey Show will air its final show two months from now. Oprah Winfrey announced in November, 2009 that Season 25 would be her last, but she and her staff kept the end date a secret until today.
Harpo Productions confirmed that May 25, 2011 will be the date of the final show — but they’re keeping her last guest a mystery.
The show has been on hiatus for the past few weeks. Yesterday Oprah tweeted: “Hard at work planning the final shows.” New episodes will begin on April 7.
After wrapping her talk show, the billionaire will get down to the serious business of turning the Oprah Winfrey Network into her next successful enterprise. OWN debuted in January with an abbreviated line-up that includes her pals Gayle King and Phil McGraw.
One popular show, Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes, gives an insiders perspective on what goes into the making of each show. Even O was shocked to find out how much went on behind her back. She promises to appear on other OWN shows beginning later this year.
