Radio shock jock Howard Stern appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Thursday night and told show host Jimmy Fallon: “You know I hate doing talk shows. In fact, this will be my last appearance anywhere ever because I’ve had it.”

The audience gave Stern a collective groan and he turned on them too: “What do you care?”

Clearly in one of his moods, he sniped: “It’s a lot of pressure to come out here. What, I’ve got to prove myself to you? I mean come on, really.”

Calling Jimmy’s current job “cushy”, he offer the host a bit of advice, “If they tell you they want to give you The Tonight Show, smack them in the head.”

He claims that when Conan O’Brien was on The Tonight Show “nobody cared about the ratings.” He went on to suggest that all of that has changed: “You go on that show, suddenly they have high expectations. Suddenly it’s pressure. What do you need that for?”

We’re guessing Howard really hasn’t sworn off late night television. He was just doing what he does best…going for a little shock and awe.
