It all started with a chaste kiss …
The war of words continues between comedian Kathy Griffin and Republican politician Sarah Palin. On Fox News Sunday, the former Alaska Governor took another shot at her arch-nemesis.
Rumors have been swirling that Griffin is going to play a Tea Party politician in an upcoming episode of Glee. When asked to respond to that, Palin said: “Kathy Griffin is a 50-year-old adult bully, a kind of has-been comedian.”
She elaborated: “She stated on CNN that her New Year’s resolution was to destroy my 16-year-old daughter, that takes it a little too far… She can do those things to me… I would just ask her to respect my children.”
She aimed her last comment directly at the source of her irritation: “Kathy, come up to Alaska and pick on me, but leave my kids alone.”
Palin’s other thorn, Levi Johnston, famously attended the Teen Choice Awards with Griffin in August 2009, shortly after he and Bristol Palin ended their short-lived engagement. Levi and Kathy held hands and the 18-year-old gave her a peck on the cheek during their red carpet spin.
Griffin chatted about Palin’s latest comment with Howard Stern today. She apparently has no intention of leaving Willow Palin alone because she claims the teen used multiple homophobic slurs on her Facebook page while attacking another FB user.
Kathy said: “A 16-year-old knows better … all I said is, ‘You’re gonna hear from me.'”
To further prove that she isn’t all bad, the comedian has offered Palin and her family free tickets to her Broadway show, extending an olive branch “from one reality star to another.”
Griffin starred in My Life on the D-List and her adversary recently wrapped her TLC series Sarah Palin’s Alaska.
