Low on the radar these days is professional golfer Tiger Woods. That all changed for the PGA athlete on Sunday when he spit on the 12th green after missing a putt at the Dubai Desert Classic.
This kind of behavior is deemed unacceptable on the European tour and carries a fine ranging from $400 to $16,000. The amount of his fine has not yet been revealed.
Woods ‘tweeted’ about the incident: “The Euro Tour is right — it was inconsiderate to spit like that and I know better. Just wasn’t thinking and want to say I am sorry.”
Woods ended up placing 20th in the tournament, which was good for a $30,000 payout but according to People magazine, he was guaranteed a hefty $3 million just for participating in the Omega Dubai event.
