CBS reporter Serene Branson was doing a live broadcast feed from the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards when she appeared to have suffered a transient ischemic episode, more commonly known as a mini-stroke.

Other theories, offered by medical professionals not familiar with her specific situation, suggest that this type of sudden inability to speak coherently can be caused by a seizure or a certain type of migraine.

Her station, KCBS in Los Angeles, issued this statement: “Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast. Her vital signs were normal. She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is feeling fine this morning.”

Branson speaks out about what happened in a Today Show update.
