Dan and Don Evans, Oklahoma City cops eliminated …

The Biggest Loser: Couples 4 has sent home Black Team contestants Dan Evans and his twin brother Don Evans during the past two episodes.

The 54-year-old Oklahoma police officers, admittedly homesick, gains 9 pounds and 15 pound respectively while the rest of the group put up some amazing weight-loss numbers over the two week period.

In retrospect, one of the brothers said: “Like most police officers, we’re used to being in control. Part of the problem was we got into an environment where we had absolutely no control whatsoever.”

It was clear to viewers of the popular NBC reality show that both men wanted out. The nearly 400 lb. brothers gained 9 pounds during week three and Dan, the most vocal about wanting to go home — got his wish.

The next week brother Don gained an additional 6 pounds and the group, by a show of hands, voted him off minutes after the weigh-in. His two-week weight gain of 15 pounds was shocking to trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Harper, who stormed off in disgust.

Don wanted to set the record straight about the circumstances surrounding his controversial departure. He insists that the first 9 lb. gain was simply a case of not watching his liquid intake. He told reporters: “I realize there are things I could have done differently and I accept full responsibility for what happened. I have no one to blame but myself.”

Regarding his additional 6 lbs. gained during week four, he blamed his newly assigned team mate Irene Alvarado for getting him booted: “She approached me the night before the weigh-in and confided in me that she was intentionally going to drink water to cause us to fall below the yellow line. She explained that she knew I would end up going home and that she and the rest of the contestants would be safe for another week.”

He went on to say: “This was a strategic move on her part. It is a game. I don’t want anyone to think that what she was doing had in any way given me any ill will or any malice. The game was over. It was checkmate.”

It seems likely that the plot was hatched by all of the contestants — with assurances to Irene that she would be safe. Perhaps the show producers were even in on it — why else would the elimination have been merely a show of hands rather than the time honored boardroom voting ritual.

Barely into the season, it also seems odd that Don Evans is sharing this information with the media. Contestants sign confidentiality agreements to keep the behind the scenes details from leaking. But then — the Evan’s duo have been anything but conventional in their actions.

The scary thing is that these guys are officers of the law. Our condolences to the fine citizenry of Oklahoma City and to all of the would-be contestants who didn’t get an opportunity to appear on the show and would have relished the chance to make the most of it.
