Grey’s Anatomy fans will finally get closure on the Alex and Izzie storyline in season 7, promises the show’s creator, head writer and executive producer, Shonda Rhimes.
Foreshaddowing that the Izzie Stevens and Alex Karev love story is not over, Alex screams for Izzie, and not his current love interest, Lexie, in the shocking season 6 finale.
Although it is unlikely that Katherine Heigl will return to the show, Rhimes is not ruling anything out in finding closure for Karev (played by Justin Chambers).
“We’re talking about it obsessively and trying to figure it out,” Rhimes tells Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello. “We’re approaching it pretty carefully.
“I want however we deal with Alex growing up and moving on and moving past that relationship to feel authentic,” Rhimes continues, “and not to feel like something that’s patched together.”
