After 9 months of silence, Elin Nordegren is ready to talk about her now ex-husband Tiger Woods and their marital troubles.
Life seemed great in 2004 when the couple wed. They went on to have two beautiful children and as far as Elin was concerned, she was living a fairy tale. Her seemingly perfect life was shattered on Thanksgiving 2009 when a parade of women came forward with damning proof that Tiger had been unfaithful in his marriage.
The divorce was finalized this week and Elin is moving on. She told People magazine in an exclusive interview: “I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children.”
Nordegren is enrolled in school and working toward a degree in psychology. Although this has been the biggest blow in her life, she is staying positive and claims: “I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself.”
Elin and her children are living in a rented home near Tiger in Windermere, Fla. Her immediate plans are for them to adjust to their new living space while she continues to attend classes and starts to heal.
The divorce settlement is reported to be $100 million, but Elin told People that all that money cannot buy happiness nor put her family back together.
Don’t expect to see more interviews popping up. She is emphatic that this is her first and last interview on the subject of her marriage to Tiger.
