Actress Rooney Mara has been cast in the coveted role of Lisbeth Salander in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”. The film will be a Hollywood adaptation of Stieg Larsson‘s best-selling novel by the same name.
She will star with Daniel Craig, who will portray Mikael Blomkvist. Robin Wright, the ex of Sean Penn, has snagged the role of Erika Berger.
The only bad news is that fans of the trilogy will have to wait until December 2011 to see what is sure to be a blockbuster hit on the big screen.
Mara previously appeared in “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, and will be seen in the upcoming project “The Social Network”. Her father, Timothy Mara, is the VP of Player Evaluation for the New York Giants.
