Literally hours before Lindsay Lohan was due in Beverly Hills Superior Court to surrender to authorities, legal eagle Robert Shapiro announced that he will NOT be representing the troubled actress.
Shawn Chapman Holley, who hastily delayed another court appearance already scheduled for this morning, will be at her side during the short morning proceedings. The lawyer walking away from the “uncontrollable client” the day after she received her 90-90 sentence on July 6.
Lohan has spent the past week at Shapiro’s rehab facility Pickford Lofts, which appeared to be a direct conflict of interest. A hoard of photographers swarmed the property last night, camped out to witness her departure. Her personal assistant carried out all of Lohan’s personal belongings, presumably to be taken back to her apartment because they won’t be allowed in jail.
After meeting with Judge Marsha Revel this morning, Lohan will begin her 90-day jail sentence at Century Regional Detention Center, where she is expected to serve approximately three weeks.
Lohan ‘tweeted’ last night: “The only “bookings” that I’m familiar with are Disney Films, never thought that I’d be “booking” into jail … eeeks.”
Her last visitors, Dina Lohan and Samantha Ronson, reportedly left around 3:30 a.m. According to insiders, she has been a “nervous, fidgety mess, unable to sleep and barely eating.”
UPDATE: The surrender hearing was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. PT/11:30 a.m. ET, but began approximately 15 minutes later because of Lohan’s tardiness. The public portion of the hearing was short and to the point.
Lohan did not speak, and the judge was quick to end the proceedings. Cameras were removed from the hearing room within minutes. Lohan looked drawn and serious as she sat beside her attorney Shawn Coleman-Holley, who had dialogue with the judge. The plan to is remove her SCRAM bracelet and she will be transported to jail later this morning where she will be processed into a segregated cell for her safety during incarceration.
