Sometimes it pays to hold out and that’s exactly what the cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore has learned. While Season 2 of the hit show has already finished filming and is set to air on July 29, the young actors have been in serious negotiations with the network to increase their salary for Season 3 — stating they won’t return without more money.

It looks like the threat has gotten the full attention of the shows producers. The Situation and Pauly D have both signed on the dotted line for Season 3 with a substantial pay increase. Though other members of the cast have yet to lock into their contracts, according to Yahoo News, they are very close.

The cast members each reportedly demanded $30,000 per episode from MTV. The self proclaimed “Guidos” and “Guidettes” were paid $5K an episode for Season 1 and $10K an episode for Season 2.

The show has become a pop culture phenomenon. Snooki and her crew have taken the world by storm. Who’d have thought reality TV would come this far?
