Lindsay Lohan, the Queen of Denial, has apparently experienced a dose of self-discovery since entering Pickford Lofts drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility on July 7. According to the treatment center founder and legal eagle, Robert Shapiro, “Miss Lohan is suffering from a disease”, and will follow Judge Marsha Revel‘s sentencing to the letter.

He said: “I have agreed to represent Ms. Lohan on the condition that she complies with all of the terms of her probation, including a requirement of jail time that was imposed. Hopefully I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan’s long term recovery and sobriety.”

Lohan and her mother Dina have been lawyer shopping following the sudden departure of Shawn Holley Coleman, who quit representing Lilo abruptly the morning after the 90-day jail, 90-day rehab sentence was handed down.

Lindsay and her mother set out to find a lawyer who would keep the trouble actress out of the slammer. They met at length with high profile Chicago defense attorney Stuart V. Goldberg. Following his six hour stint with Lohan, Goldberg had a good deal to say about the “fragile, lost child“.

They finally hit pay dirt when they happened upon Robert Shapiro, who successfully defended OJ Simpson during the infamous murder trial.

It turns out the new legal eagle, who has yet to be recognized by the court as her new attorney of record, lost his son Brent Shapiro to substance abuse. His son bounced in and out of rehab as a teen and died at 24 after mixing alcohol and Ecstasy.

Shapiro started a sober living home in West Hollywood, advertised as “a safe haven for those in all stages of recovery”.

Lindsay must turn herself in at Century Regional Detention in Lynwood by Tuesday – see photos of the rehab and jail facilities below.
