In an obvious attempt to lessen her jail time, Lindsay Lohan checked into Pickford Lofts, a sober living facility founded by her newest potential lawyer Robert Shapiro. If the name rings a bell it is because he was part of the legal team that successfully represented O.J. Simpson during his murder trial.
Shapiro created the rehabilitation center after losing his son to a drug overdose in 2005. The West Hollywood compound features loft accommodations with designer Corian kitchens that are fully stocked, hardwood floors, laundry room, Internet access and flat-screen TVs.
While not yet officially her lawyer, Shapiro reportedly counseled her to voluntarily admit herself into the sober house, as a signal to the judge that she is serious about getting help. Hopefully his motives are pure — some might view the move as a conflict of interest that allows him to feather his nest.
Since her arrival at Pickford Lofts on Wednesday, she has had visits from her mom Dina, ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson, and her newest assistant and/or girlfriend Eilat Anschel.
Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyer was very vocal about Lohan’s newest strategy for avoiding a stint in jail. She said, “It’s really a moot point to ask Judge Revel to send Ms Lohan to rehab only, since Judge Revel has already sentenced her.”
