Amber Riley, best know for her role as Mercedes Jones on Glee, performed two songs live at the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. She blew the crowd away with her amazingly dynamic vocals.

The talented actress and singer is 24. She auditioned for American Idol when she was 17 and was turned down. She tried for the role of Effie in “Dreamgirls” three years ago and was turned down because of her age.

She sang “Beautiful” to a decidedly appreciative Anaheim crowd. The song was particularly moving following the sudden death this morning of New York Yankees icon George Steinbrenner.
