Former model Irina Krupnik is suing NBC Universal over the use of a sexy bikini picture of her used in the 2009 Vince Vaughn movie “Couples Retreat.”
The $10 million defamation lawsuit contends that the use of Krupnik’s photo as a prop in the film has damaged her reputation.
In the movie, Krupnik’s picture, which was taken in 2001, is used in a scene where actor Jon Favreau’s character waits for his wife to leave their hotel room and then enjoys…ummm…a private moment with the photo.
31-year-old Krupnik, who now works as a makeup artist, acknowledges that she gave the rights to the photo to a stock agency, which presumably sold it to the filmmakers.
The suit, which was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday, claims Universal Pictures Co. never obtained permission to use the image in the film.
According to Krupnik’s attorney, Thomas Mullaney, “Common decency means you should ask somebody before you put them into a scene that’s essentially pornography.”
