When you tune into Saturday Night Live on May 8, you may be surprised at who delivers the famous phrase ‘Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night’. After a huge campaign on the social network site Facebook from fans lobbying producer Lorne Michaels, it has been confirmed that Betty White will host the Mother’s Day edition of SNL.

Micheals’ claims that he was never opposed to having the Golden Girl host but admits the Facebook movement definitely helped. The FB fan page states that this year marks Betty’s eighth decade in show business and a great way to honor her would be to let her host SNL. The 490,868 FB fans who offered their support for Betty are thrilled.

White, 88, will not have to take on the task alone as she will be joined by former SNL cast members Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph and Rachel Dratch. Yes, start preparing yourself for the laughs! Congrats Betty and good luck, we will be watching!

Betty was featured in one of this year’s top Super Bowl commercials.
