The 2010 ESPY Awards were held last night at the Nokia Theater in Hollywood. The annual ESPN event showcases excellence in sports performance.
Lindsey Vonn was awarded ‘Best Female Athlete’. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints quarterback, picked up ‘Best Male Athlete’, ‘Best NFL Player’, ‘Best Championship Performance’, and by association ‘Best NFL Team’.
The premiere award of this event is the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. This year Brett Favre presented individual trophies to the family of Ed Thomas. He was a football coach at Aplington-Parkersburg High School in Iowa – gunned down by a former player in June 2009. The killer is currently serving a life sentence for first-degree murder.

Jan Thomas, Aaron Thomas and Todd Thomas accepted the award following a moving tribute to their father Ed Thomas.
Brett Favre and wide receiver Greg Lewis picked up an award of their own. They won ‘Best Play of the Year’. The trophies were presented by Brooklyn Decker – who was definitely a sight to behold as evidenced by our photo gallery.
