90 Day Fiance Season 9 has nearly come to a close. Only the Tell All remains.
Emily and Kobe had a fight the night before their wedding. They’re also still keeping a major secret.
Bilal amended the prenup, so he and Shaeeda are about to marry. Unless she backs out. This may be her last chance to avoid another lecture.
In Joshua Tree, Jibri and Miona are setting up for her picture-perfect wedding. But not everything is in place.
Patrick and Thais do not get her dad’s approval or blessing. That does not bode well.
Emily Bieberly and Kobe Blaise are still recovering from their pre-wedding disagreement. Emily, surprised by Kobe’s sudden interest in Ohio and patriarchal gender roles, asked if there were any other red flags that she should ignore. (Okay, that’s not what she said, but isn’t it?) Kobe was offended and spent the night in his own hotel room.
She and Kobe talk on the phone. Even though her concerns were obviously valid, she basically walks it all back and they resolve to make up. Of course.
But Kobe remains haunted by the secret that they are keeping. Emily is ten weeks pregnant. He does not like hiding this from her family, but Emily wants the wedding to go smoothly.
As for Emily’s family, they are very emotional about this. Lisa (who looks gorgeous) tears up while helping Emily get ready.
Kobe has two friends visiting for the wedding, including Temperature, the toxic friend who effectively caused his disagreement with Emily the night before. Temperature will be his Best Man.
Kobe meets up with Emily’s dad. Both men tear up with emotion. David also passes something to Kobe — an undisclosed gift — something that is meaningful based upon conversations that they had before they met in person.
Kobe tears up and nearly (once again) betrays Emily’s trust. Unlike with his friend Temperature, however, Kobe manages to not divulge that Emily is pregnant.
For better or for worse, Emily and Kobe get married. It is a sweet ceremony.
A couple of days later, they have some news for Emily’s family. She’s pregnant! About ten weeks, in fact. Lisa blurts out “NO” which was a slip, but even the most tightly controlled of us have been there.
They’re about as polite as anyone can be under the circumstances. Like Emily, they know that this is not a good time for Emily to be pregnant. They’d hoped that she would be out of the house. Madeline, Emily’s sensible sister, admits that what’s most surprising is that she didn’t notice the signs. Emily … has always done what she wants, even when it’s the worst thing for her.
Bilal Hazziez and Shaeeda Sween both have family coming to visit. While the cameras show us the guys playing an indoor basketball game and the woman cooking, Shaeeda gushes about this huge, blended, multicultural family is what she always wanted. The family prays together and enjoys a traditional meal.
Following the dress prank (and the reveal of the gorgeous real dress), Nefertari has the task of setting up the actual wedding decorations. The venue is Bilal’s house. His home is spacious and devoid of any traces of color, which makes this very doable. Nefertari does a fantastic job.
Shaeeda looks absolutely gorgeous. Her sisters do remind her that this is her last chance to back out, but she declines. Bilal has amended the prenup as she requested. In her mind, that’s enough for the wedding to take place. Wow.
Time for the wedding! Interestingly, we do not see them kiss or the typical “you’re married” portion of the wedding. Part of that could be their faith, and the fact that they are already spiritually married. We suspect that they received a marriage license nonetheless.
Happily ever after? Well, maybe. Already, Shaeeda is talking about hoping to be a mom soon. Bilal is still not sold on that, even after seemingly promising to come around on the topic.
Jibri Bell and Miona Bell are at their rental house in Joshua Tree. The rental is also the venue. Jibri talks to his grandmother (who is fantastic and also officiating the wedding) about how they wish that his mom were there. Jibri and Miona put off planning their wedding for too long, and neither Mahala nor Brian could take off work for a cross-country trip on such short notice.
Jibri has many eccentric friends. One is Igor, who lives in Los Angeles. Igor has volunteered to drive hours to bring them their wedding arch. Jibri is nervous that he won’t arrive in time (nightmare traffic situation), which could impact their wedding day.
Meanwhile, Miona is excited about her big day. She characterizes the desert as like the beach, but without the water, which is … true? She wants everything to be perfect.
She’s worried that everything will go wrong, though. Or, more specifically, that Igor and the arch won’t arrive in time. Miona points out how many changes she has accepted, but really wants her picture-perfect wedding. That means having an arch in the picture.
The dress, at least, is perfect. Miona shared that she found it by accident. It’s gorgeous and she looks amazing in it.
Jibri DOES see her in it before the nuptials. The two of them take their wedding photos with the photographer while waiting for Igor.
Igor arrives! He saves the day, showing up and dropping off the arch. The arch is not exactly what Miona pictured (it’s just … two planks of wood. It’s more of an angle than an arch) but she takes it in stride.
Jibri and Miona are married! They do this sweet and very symbolic gesture with jars of sand, Jibri’s grandmother officiates, and the two formally tie the knot. Though they may have been married in some capacity in Serbia, they’re certainly married now.
Patrick Mendes and Thais Ramone pick up where they left off the week before — talking to her dad, Carlos, who thinks that their relationship sucks and that they should not get married.
Carlos has some toxic and possibly xenophobic ideas about relationships. He also has that particular type of brainrot that comes from watching too much of the news, and thinks that all American men are basically just doing sexual tourism. Long story short, he wants Thais to dump Patrick and come home … but he’s starting to realize that she won’t.
Patrick affirms his love for Thais, noting that he never planned to fall in love — but love is complicated, and he fell head over heels for his fiancee.
And geography shouldn’t dictate who people love, even if it sometimes makes things difficult. He does, however, promise that they’ll regularly visit Carlos.
After the call, Thais feels relief. Telling her dad feels like a weight lifted off of her shoulders. They’re still in a complicated situation — and there are things that Patrick needs to change for their marriage to be a happy one — but she feels better now.
Thais prepares for the wedding. Her friends Anadia and Kayla are there. Anadia is also Brazilian, and tells her that she’d postpone a wedding if her father didn’t approve (that’s … a choice), but Kayla advises Thais to follow her heart and do what she wants.
Patrick and Thais marry! It’s a beautiful outdoor ceremony. While we hope that Patrick will stop making unilateral plans and start treating her like his partner, there’s another order of business. When, Thais wonders, can they live together as a couple without John third-wheeling?
