Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan blacked out and fell during the band’s live performance in Tampa Bay, Florida on Wednesday.
Corgan was performing “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” when he lost consciousness and fell onto his drummer’s kit.
The 43-year-old rocker posted a message to fans on his Twitter page early the next morning:
Thanks a million to the fans in Tampa last night for a tremendous show! We can’t tell you enough how much we appreciate you today 😉
And for those that saw me fall last night during Bullet, that wasn’t a stage move or clumsiness, that was me blacking out and wiping out.
I have no memory of falling against the drum riser and my guitar cabinet, but I can tell you I’ve got quite a good bruise + am moving slow
The band is set to perform tonight in Knoxville, TN.
