The lead singer of a British pop trio climbed a telecommunications tower and leaped to his death during a Belgian rock festival.

Charles Haddon, the 22-year-old lead singer of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, died at the Pukkelpop festival in Hasselt, Belgium, in a jump that followed his band’s performance that night.

A statement by the festival said that Mr. Haddon had decided to take his own life, adding, “Our thoughts and sympathies go out to his family and friends.”

On Thursday, Michael Been, frontman for the U.S. group The Call, died of an apparent heart attack at the same festival.
