Rapper T.I. helped police convince a suicidal man not to jump off the roof of a high-rise hotel in Midtown Atlanta on Wednesday afternoon.
The hip-hop star, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was out and about in his native Atlanta when he heard about the situation on the radio and drove to the building to see if he could help.
Police were attempting to convince the man, who appeared to be about 25-years-old, not to jump from the 22-story Colony Square Hotel when Harris “appeared out of nowhere,” officers said.
The troubled man agreed to step down to talk to the concerned rapper.
T.I.talked to the man about how a person “can make it through anything,” Atlanta Police spokesman James Polite said.
“T.I. just happened to be in the right place at the right time,” Polite added.
The suicidal man, whose identity was not released, was taken to a nearby hospital.
Now that’s what you call being a Good Samaritan!
