Ted Williams, the “homeless man with the golden voice” became a viral internet sensation last week when a YouTube video was posted by a radio station in Columbus, Ohio.

In less than a week the panhandler’s life has taken on the proportions of a Lifetime movie, with network television appearances, including CBS’s Early Show and NBC’s Today Show.

Williams says it’s “almost like winning the Megaball lottery,” as he describes recent events, which include a job offer to become the voice of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.

Williams has been on the street for 10 years after a downward spiral into drug and alcohol addiction. He says he has been clean for 2 years. He has seven daughters and two sons, and was reunited with his 92-year-old mother after his network appearances this morning.

Julia Williams, who had not seen her son in nearly 20 years, said, “I prayed that I would live to see this time when he would do well.”
