Kate and Ellen are kissing cousins …
Ellen DeGeneres has been featuring a tongue-in-cheek Ye Old Wedding Watch segment on her show and yesterday she revealed some ‘odd but true’ information she recently received from the New England Genealogical Society.
It turns out that she and Kate Middleton share a common relative named Sir Thomas Fairfax, making them 15th cousins. Seriously.
DeGeneres mused: “How about that. I’m definitely invited to the wedding now! Between the Packers winning the Super Bowl and this, I’m having a good week.”
We wonder if Ellen is aware that Tea Party diva Sarah Palin and the late Princess Diana are 10th cousins. We’re guessing that someone will point this out to the comedian in time for the two to travel Across the Pond together for the April nups.
