For those of you who are hoping that Charlie Sheen has seen the light and will embrace sobriety — have we got a reality check for you. The Two and a Half Men star was interviewed on The Dan Patrick Show yesterday and candidly spoke about his work and play mentality.
Addressing his wildly popular hit sitcom, Charlie said that the show exec’s told him to get ready and they would get ready to begin shooting new episodes. He claims that he’s ready and they are not.
The new plan, according to CBS, is to begin filming on February 28 for a total of four more episodes – a departure from the planned ten.
According to business savvy Sheen, he has a very loosely worded morals clause in his contract: “Nit pick, nit pick, but I don’t think (the clause) covers, ‘Let us totally dominate and interfere with your personal life.’ I have a contract. They said, ‘Get your act together,’ and I did.”
How long will his sobriety last? “I heal pretty quickly, but I also unravel pretty quickly.” His warning is pretty clear to the network, “So get me right now, guys. Get me right now!”
Charlie makes no bones about partying out of boredom, “wanting to make things better — whether it’s real or imagined.” Sheen was sober at one point for 5 years and he was “bored out of his tree.”
Bottom line for Charlie, calling him sober would be … in his own words: “inauthentic – it’s not who I am.”
