Actor David Arquette has been involved in a head-on car crash shortly after 2:00 p.m. in West Hollywood this afternoon. The collision, according to TMZ, occurred when the actor veered into oncoming traffic after attempting to avoid rear-ending a vehicle that had made a sudden stop.
The estranged husband of Courteney Cox was stretched out on a grassy area of the boulevard while waiting for an ambulance to arrive. His car door was open — revealing that his airbag had inflated upon impact.
Arquette, driving a silver Cadillac, was headed to Burbank airport where a private jet was waiting to take him to Las Vegas for the grand opening of Sugar Factory at the Paris Hotel. The event is being hosted by Kim Kardashian.
Publicist Cindy Guagenti indicated that her 39-year-old client was receiving treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for minor injuries and he was “OK.” The crash occurred on Doheny Drive, just north of Santa Monica Blvd.
A short while later, Arquette was channeling his inner Charlie Sheen when he ‘tweeted’: “Remember to wear your seat belt – wish I was. I got into a car accident but I’m fine. Luckily I have tiger’s blood running through my veins. Haha. Thank you for all your concern.”
