Jon Cryer has tried to give Charlie Sheen wide berth during his two weeks of self-destructive behavior and his former co-star took his silence as an “act of treason.”
Sheen told E! Online: “Jon has not called me. He’s a turncoat, a traitor, a troll.” What would he say to Cryer if he decides to reach out? “What’s there to say? I’ll tell him, ‘You’re a little late. Goodbye, troll.'”
He went on to say: “When I’m starring in multimillion-dollar films and he’s begging me for a supporting role – I’ll say: ‘You left me out in the cold with all your guilt and stupidity.'”
According to a Cryer spokesman, “Jon has reached out to Charlie. He decided not to speak publicly out of respect for what he’s going through.”
Perhaps Charlie was irked at the comedic bit that Cryer did on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In a humorous office parody, Jon lands a part time job answering phones for Ellen.
We’re guessing that Sheen was really pissed at Cryer because he and the show will move forward. If the latest rumors are correct, Jon may well be delivering his lines to Rob Lowe. That particular scenario will definitely get a Warlock fuming.
UPDATE: After giving it some thought, Charlie had a change of heart. On Southern California’s K-EARTH 101 radio today, Sheen backpedaled: “I’ll apologize to Jon Cryer right now … I was in a mood, and I threw that out there … it’s a half apology — it’s an apol!”
Charlie added: “They’re talking to Rob Lowe. I hope he does it, and kicks some ass, cause I still get paid!”
On a side note, the best spoof was Jimmy Fallon’s spot-on impersonation.
