Rocker seeks compensation for his pain and suffering …
Musician Bret Michaels has filed a lawsuit against Tony Award Productions and CBS for injuries suffered after his June 2009 Tony Awards performance.
Michaels received facial injuries after walking into a piece of scenery while exiting at the end of his stage gig. The suit claims that he was not properly instructed on how to safely depart the area after his performance.
His lawyers filed legal documents on Thursday in L.A. County Superior Court, detailing their clients hospitalization for a broken nose and a cut lip. They also allege that the initial blow to the head set the stage for an April 2010 brain hemorrhage that nearly killed him.
Michaels claims he is suing for unspecified damages because Tony producers have “failed and refused” to remedy the situation. They insist that he is to blame for the mishap because he “missed his mark.”
