One day after an appeals court overturned her murder conviction, Amanda Knox is back home in Seattle after spending the last four years serving a prison sentence in Italy for the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher.

The 24-year-old woman and her family arrived late Tuesday afternoon aboard a British Airways flight.

Amanda walked into the terminal area and was greeted by supporters and dozens of international reporters.

Though obviously in an emotional state, Knox spoke briefly, “I’m really overwhelmed right now. What’s important for me to say is just thank you to everyone who’s believed in me, who’s defended me and who’s supported my family.”

She continued, “My family is the most important thing to me right now, and I just want to go be with them. So, thank you for being there for me.”
