Sophia Grace Brownlee, the 8-year-old who covered Nicki Minaj’s Super Bass and then watched it go viral on YouTube with 7 million hits so far, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today – see viral video here.
She and her cousin Rosie traveled from the U.K. to do the guest appearance. They were decked out in their princess dresses and crowns as they bounced around on stage while interacting with Ellen. Sophia chirped, “We love pink, and we like the fluffy dresses.”
Ellen surprised the young girls by inviting Nicki Minaj to come out on stage for a meet and greet. Sophia nearly jumped out of her princess slippers she was so delighted.
DeGeneres thanks the rapper for rearranging her schedule to accommodate the show. Sophia sang for Minaj, who chimed in at intervals but clearly allowing the spotlight to shine on the talents of the little British songstress.
The Super Bass singer told the sweet little girls to stay in school and put their books first and music second. She also revealed that she was sending them on a shopping spree the day after the show taped to buy anything they wanted.
