We should have seen this one coming …
Actress Debra Messing and her husband Daniel Zelman have gone their separate ways after nearly two decades together.
The couple released the following statement through her rep, “The couple privately separated earlier this year after a 10 year marriage. The decision was mutual, and they remain supportive of one another and committed to raising their son as a family.”
Messing met Zelman, an actor and producer, when they were students at New York University. They dated for eight years before getting married in 2001. Their son Roman, 7, was born to the union in 2004.
The celebrity couple last appeared together at the end of October all decked out in costumes for Bette Midler’s annual NYC Halloween charity gala.
Debra won an Emmy in 2003 for her lead actress role as Grace Adler in Will & Grace. The popular television series aired from 1998-2006.
Next on tap for Messing is the lead role in the NBC musical series Smash, premiering on Monday, February 6, 2012.
