Pro boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been sentenced to serve 90 days behind bars after pleading guilty to domestic violence.
He was arrested in September 2010 after assaulting his ex-girlfriend Josie Harris in front of their children.
Mayweather struck a plea deal with the prosecutor in order to get the charge reduced to misdemeanor domestic violence. Judge Melissa Saragosa ordered the boxer to complete 100 hours of community service and complete a 12 month domestic violence program. He was also fined $2,500.
The WBC welterweight champion has been ordered by the court to report to jail on January 6, 2011.
The boxer is motivated to get the jail time behind him in order to fight Manny Pacquiao on May 5, 2012, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
