Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden was tossed from the Darling Hotel in Sydney, Australia on Sunday after police, executing a search warrant, found weed in his room.
New South Wales police entered Madden’s room at 10:30 p.m., while the 34-year-old entertainer was performing a gig.
The hotel manager later reported, “Joel Madden was ejected from the hotel because a small amount of cannabis was found inside his hotel room.”
Madden wasted no time in issuing his own statement on Tumblr:
The band was formed in 1996, with Joel as lead vocalist and his twin brother Benji Madden playing lead guitar and providing back-up vocals. Other members include bass guitarist Paul Thomas, rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Billy Martin. Their drummer is Dean Butterworth.
Madden is married to ‘Fashion Star’ reality celeb Nicole Richie. They have a daughter Harlow, 5, and a son Sparrow, 3. Nicole’s father is Lionel Richie.
