Katy Perry has made her move over the weekend — blowing past Justin Bieber for the top spot on the social media site Twitter.

Monday afternoon she was poised at 46,553,870 when we captured this snapshot in time while the former #1 is currently sitting at 46,521,752 followers.

The news is a low blow for the 19-year-old who has already suffered humiliation over the weekend when he was hit in the head by a water bottle while performing in Brazil. He was so upset that he stormed off stage and remained in his dressing room for an hour before returning to finish his concert.

The ‘ROAR’ singer is now the most popular celebrity on the Twitter planet that is made up of 554,750,000 active registered users. The Oct. 22 release of her album ‘Prism’ undoubtedly helped her to become the Queen of Twitter.

Lady Gaga held the coveted spot from 2010 until January when Bieber mowed her down. The ‘Applause’ artist is currently hovering in third place with 40 million loyal followers.
