Ding! Ding! Ding!
Is it about to be back on between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift?
Despite a lack of firm confirmation from the latter, most assume that Swift penned the track "Bad Blood" about her fellow pop star, saying last September that the song is about a singer she considers to be a "straight-up enemy."
Perry then (basically) confirmed her feud with Swift.
Now, insiders say Perry has registered a single titled "1984" with her music publisher, BMI.
Could the track center around George Orwell’s iconic work of dystopian fiction? Yes.
But are the odds better that this is a direct reference to "1989," the title of Swift’s most recent album?
We’d say so, especially when you consider that 1989 is Taylor Swift’s birth year and 1984 is Perry’s birth year.
Perry and Swift have both dated John Mayer, but Swift also said last year that the beef with her fellow artist was not over a guy.
Various reports allege Taylor believes Katy stole a backup singer from her world tour.
"Bad Blood" was released as the fourth single from Swift’s first-ever pop album. It’s video debuted last month and featured cameos by pretty much every famous female in Hollywood.
But, no, Katy Perry was not among them.
