Last week, fans were taken aback by Mel B’s revelation that she had an affair with Geri Halliwell during the peak of the Spice Girls’ fame.

And it seems no one was more shocked than Ginger Spice herself.

Word of the affair went public thanks to Mel who spilled the tea during an interview with Piers Morgan.

“She’s going to hate me for this because she’s all posh in her country house and her husband. But it’s a fact. It just happened and we just giggled at it and that was it,” Mel said.

“It was just that once. And hopefully when Geri gets asked that, which hopefully she will after this, she won’t deny it. Because it was just a fun thing.”

It’s a little weird to dredge up a long-forgotten incident from a friend’s past when you know it has the potential to cause problems in their current life, but hey — it’s 2019, and surely no one could be too upset over something as objectively awesome as two Spice Girls hooking up, right?

Wrong! It seems Halliwell was so upset by Mel’s revelation that she nearly canceled plans for a Spice Girls reunion tour.

It seems there are tentative plans for the original girls — minus Victoria Beckham who, as the Justin Timberlake of the group, is much too famous for a quickie nostalgia tour — to perform 13 dates in America and Australia in addition to the gigs they already have lined up in the UK.

Halliwell was apparently so pissed about her bandmates’ revelation that she nearly pulled the plug on the whole thing.

“It has been a hugely dramatic week. At one point last Sunday, the tour wasn’t happening,” a source tells the Daily Mail.

“They agreed that they had to do the British dates because they are under contract and they don’t want to let their fans down, but there won’t be any more.”

At this point, it’s unclear if the American and Australian legs of the tour are still a go, but sources say it’s 100 percent that the singers won’t be collaborating again in the future.

“There had been plans to keep it going but no more,” says one insider.

“At the moment Geri doesn’t even want to be in the same room as Mel B. There’s no way more worldwide dates will be added.”

Like we said, we can see why Geri might be upset over all of this — but it sounds like Mel was just trying to spice up her life.
