Amy Duggar is often referred to as the "black sheep" of the Duggar family, and at this point it seems she's entirely cut ties with her famous cousins.
Amy did not attend Jinger Duggar's wedding last month, and she has yet to appear on the family's new reality show, Counting On.
Why the separation from her famous relatives?
While there have been a number of rumors regarding bad blood between Amy and her cousins, it now looks as though she may have had good reason for keeping a lower profile in recent months.
As recently as last fall, all seemed well.
In September 2015, Amy married Dillon King in a wedding that was attended by Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, as well as several of their children.
In the months since, Amy and Dillon were vocal about their love of married life, but they disappeared from the spotlight shortly thereafter.
Now, the couple has resurfaced on the WE TV reality show Marriage Boot Camp and it seems their marriage may be damaged beyond repair.
In a newly released trailer for the show, Amy shares some truly shocking revelations about her relationship with King.
You're not going to believe this ...
“Upon arrival, their lack of respect for each other is apparent,” says a description on the reality show's website.
Little is revealed about Amy and Dillon's reason for seeking counseling, but in the trailer, we learn that their relationship has become violent.
“He picked me up by my throat, all the way up to the ceiling," Amy tells a fellow cast member at one point.
No one in the Duggar family has commented on Amy's troubling allegation, perhaps because it's the first they've heard of it.
Either way, it's alarming to say the least.
Tellingly, the typically outgoing and far-from-shy Amy and Dillon King have been avoiding the spotlight altogether in the last few weeks.
Amy didn't attend Jinger Duggar's wedding, and while she insisted in a rare public appearance that it wasn't a snub, her explanation was vague.
Moreover, she's gone quiet online.
Once actively engaged with the public, Amy has set her Instagram page to private, and has reportedly turned down multiple requests for interviews.
All of which leads up to Marriage Boot Camp ...
So is all hope lost for the married couple?
Divorce, of course, is forbidden in the Duggars' world, and fans have expressed concerns that Amy will stay with her abusive husband.
Would she really do so, out of a sense of religious obligation? Given what she's said about Anna Duggar, we have our doubts.
Many have taken to social media to publicly encourage her to leave King; Amy hasn't responded or issued a public statement.
Thus far, she has yet to respond.
