Rapper DMX spends more time behind bars than your local mixologist.
In fact there are almost enough snaps in our DMX mugshot collection to make a full deck of cards. (X is both a king and a joker.)
But despite his many run-ins with the law, the Ruff Ryders ring leader always seems to get off relatively easy on sentencing day.
His remarkable streak of luck may have just come to an end, however, as a judge in Erie County, NY has sentenced the 44-year-old hip hop legend to six months in prison.
The trouble began back in April when DMX was accused of robbing some dude at a gas station. (The man's not exactly a criminal mastermind.)
Shortly thereafter, X was arrested again - this time for failure to pay child support.
Simmons was locked up in Buffalo for traffic violations and drug possession for two weeks back in 2001, and he was turned over to Western New York authorities yet again following his latest offense.
New York police say the rapper owed over $400,000 in child support at the time of his most recent arrest.
Reggae artist Shaggy broke the news of Simmons' half-year sentence on Twitter today. Several media outlets have since confirmed the news.
