We all remember when we lost at least one of our teeth.

I remember wiggling, pulling, and ripping one of mine out in front a horrified woman in a McDonald’s bathroom. I ran out of the restaurant with a mouth full of blood and proudly showed my mom my detached baby tooth.

I also remember putting the tooth under my pillow when my sister was babysitting me.  Sometime in my slumber, she left me a wad a of one dollar bills that would make a stripper jealous.

What I don’t remember is having a tooth ripped out with a javelin.

However, the daughter of U.S. Olympic athlete Bryan Clay, Ellie, will have that memory.

Clay took the gold in the decathlon in 2008. But his biggest win to date is pulling Ellie’s tooth by tying to a javelin and throwing it.

Ellie is a champ.  Not only did she not feel the tooth come out, she did cry when it started to bleed.  She only asked for water to wash out her toothless mouth.

May the tooth fairy be good to you, Ellie.
