Soccer star Hope Solo is kicking back against the hacker who has released naked photos of herself and many other female stars online.
The athlete is one of MANY women whose privacy has been invaded over the past few weeks, but one of the few who has released a statement in regard to the incident.
“It is extremely sad and unfortunate that the rights of so many women were violated by the unauthorized release of private photographs,” Solo said late yesterday, adding:
“This act goes beyond the bounds of human decency and, as such, I stand united with all the women affected and am exploring every option to protect my privacy.”
Celebrities who have found themselves in the bare crosshairs of the hacker range from Kim Kardashian to Rihanna to Jenny McCarthy to Avril Lavigne and many more.
Solo, meanwhile, was arrested in June for allegedly hitting her sister and nephew in an incident that made more than a few headlines in its own right.
Hope was previously involved in a domestic altercation with then-fiance Jerramy Stevens as well; the two married shortly after that ugly incident.
In light of the NFL controversies surrounding Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson, many are wondering why Solo continues to suit up for for the U.S. National Team.
“While I understand the public desires more information regarding the allegations against me, I continue to maintain my innocence against these charges,” she also said last night, concluding:
“And once all the facts come to light and the legal process in concluded, I am confident that I will be fully exonerated.”
Solo’s court case is pending, while the FBI continues to investigate the celebrity photo hacking and hopes to find the culprit any day now.
