We’re sure there was much stammering and brow-furrowing, but Jeff Goldblum eventually managed to pop the question to his longtime girlfriend Emilie Livingston.
Livingston broke the news via Twitter earlier this week.
“I was overtaken by tears of joy and ecstasy,” Livingston tweeted. “We picked the ring together #inlove”
This will be the first marriage for Livingston and the third for Goldblum, who is thirty years Emilie’s senior. Goldblum was last married to actress Geena Davis. They divorced in 1990.
The actor’s love life made headlines back in 2010 when it was rumored that Goldblum had dated Rielle Hunter, a videographer most famous for her role in the Sen. John Edwards sex scandal.
Here’s hoping Jeff’s put that sort of thing behind him and is genuinely ready to settle down with Emilie.
The couple is currently in Hawaii celebrating their engagement, and Livingston has been posting non-stop tweets gushing about her new fiance.
There’s no official word on exactly how long Jeff and Emilie have been dating, but given how long it’s been since the last time he walked down the aisle, we’re guessing Goldblum took his time and moved very slowly.
