Amid reports that Sam & Cat co-stars Ariana Grande and Jenette McCurdy are at odds over their salaries, the former issued a statement to clear the air.

The hit show has yet to be renewed for a second season, allegedly due to the fact that McCurdy is feuding with Nickelodeon over the star’s compensation.

Rumors also implied that Nickelodeon may cancel Sam & Cat over McCurdy’s racy photo scandal, but we hear that’s not true, and that it’s all about money.

According to Ariana, though, that part isn’t true either.

Grande, 20, issued a lengthy statement via Twitter Thursday, starting off, “I hate addressing rumors and I hate gossip but this is really bothering me.”

“Jennette and I agreed upfront that we would be treated equally on this show in all regards (as we should be, considering we each work just as hard as the other).”

“The rumors circulating about our contracts and our salary not being equal are absolutely ridiculous and false,” Ariana went on, clearly upset.

“I don’t know who’s putting these idiotic quotes out there but I thought I’d straighten it out and try to end this nonsense once and for all.”

“As far as the show goes, I don’t know what’s happening because I’m not directly involved with the problem but I just wanted to address this one rumor.”

Jennette McCurdy: Feuding with Ariana Grande, Nickelodeon?

“I am NOT making more money than my co-star, nor do I think I should be. So we can all move on and get out of our heads that this was a money thing. I don’t play like that at all.”

“I am, have always been and always will be about equality and fairness.”

“Love you and don’t want you being in the dark about work related things like this … thank you for caring and supporting through and through.”

McCurdy, in a Tweet posted after she bailed on the Kids Choice Awards, specifically said that she made the decision to skip the show out of fairness.

The 21-year-old star has yet to respond to Grande’s Twitter missive.

For its part, Nickelodeon confirmed a production hiatus and much-needed rest after an “unusually long production cycle” that has left all parties “understandably tired.”

Beyond that, there’s been no comment on that or the Jennette McCurdy photo scandal, though our insiders swear that is not a factor in any of this.
