Kate Gosselin is, somewhat understandably, worried for her children’s safety after Jon Gosselin’s recent altercation with a celebrity news photographer.

If you missed it, Jon fired a warning shot at a paparazzo he says followed him onto private property last week. The photographer went to the police.

She didn’t file a formal complaint, however, most likely because she was trespassing (albeit unknowingly). Jon declined to press charges as well.

In any case, regardless of whether a crime was committed, Kate Gosselin is not happy, and says nothing surprises her anymore with Jon’s behavior.

Kate is considering asking the judge overseeing their custody case to modify the terms, requiring Jon to “exercise restraint” when it comes to firing weapons.

Reports indicate that she is “profoundly concerned” that Jon was armed last weekend when he left the restaurant where he’s waiting tables nowadays.

She thinks it was an “extreme reaction” to fire a shot in the air, rather than simply calling 911 to report the alleged trespasser, and is very concerned.

Kate Gosselin wants a judge to restrict his right to fire weapons when the children are there and to ensure that all guns are locked up at all times.

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 brood spends most of their time with her, but they also visit Jon. Kate told a TMZ camera, “I’m doing what it takes to keep them safe.”

Basically, we wouldn’t be surprised if there are lawyers involved in whatever she has planned in response to this. It’s just a matter of how ugly it gets.
