Looks like Lindsay Lohan is headed back to court.
The troubled star will face criminal charges for lying to police officers following her car accident in June on Pacific Coast Highway, according to reports.
Initially, the actress told cops she was NOT behind the wheel of her Porsche when it slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler. In truth, of course, she was.
The case will be filed as a misdemeanor. As always, the charge could spell trouble for LL, given that she’s currently on probation for a jewelry heist.
The criminal filing could trigger a probation violation, and Judge Stephanie Sautner could send her to jail as soon as a charge is filed – no conviction needed.
It could’ve been worse.
Police actually found pills in her purse after LiLo’s car crash, as well, but her attorneys argued that they were legally prescribed, so cops backed off.
How strenuously prosecutors try to pursue Lindsay Lohan’s misleading of police – she claimed her assistant was driving and not her – remains to be seen.
