A TV closed captioning service has apologized for misidentifying New Girl beauty Zooey Deschanel as one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.

Seriously, that happened Friday during the hunt for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Kansas-based Caption Solutions says it “deeply regrets” the snafu, with President Kala J. Patterson saying they “sincerely apologize for this error.”

The erroneous onscreen text appeared on Fox affiliate KDFW in Dallas-Fort Worth, declaring “Marathon Bomber. He is 19-year-old Zooey Deschanel.”

While these two names might not sound similar to you, they were close enough to confuse one Fox affiliate Friday during the massive Boston manhunt.

Not long before authorities captured the Boston bombing suspect, he was erroneously listed by the closed captioning as the beautiful singer-actress.

Cross promotion for New Girl?

A welcome moment of levity after what could only be described as a tough week, which ended after police remarkably took Tsarnaev alive last night.

Zooey Deschanel, meanwhile, is still at large.

Zooey's 2012 Golden Globes nails - little tuxedos - won raves, so she delivered a sequel with a filmstrip theme at Sunday night’s awards extravaganza.

Technician Tom Bachik created the design - “serial nails,” as Deschanel called them - using a neutral base polish plus white, black and gold hues.

Zooey Deschanel covers the February issue of Glamour magazine. In it, our perennial crush laments how skinny many Hollywood actresses have become.

"Actresses have definitely gotten thinner over the course of my lifetime," she says.

"Women I admired growing up - Debra Winger, Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep - were beautiful and thin, but not too thin. There are a lot of actresses who are unhealthy-skinny."

"Much, much too skinny. You can't Pilates to that. I'm a very small person, and if I lost 15 pounds, I'd look like them; it's scary. For young girls, what does that say?"

Zooey Deschanel is officially a New Girl again, or something.

Last Wednesday, nearly a year after she split up from Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard, the 32-year-old actress finalized her divorce in L.A.

Deschanel cited irreconcilable differences as the reason. In typical fashion, neither she nor her ex-husband has spoken much about the breakup since.

In recent months, Zooey has been dating screenwriter Jamie Linden, who's behind the scripts for films including 10 Years, Dear John, and We Are Marshall.

Zooey Deschanel showed off two things last night at the 2012 Emmy Awards:

1. Some serious cleavage in a somewhat bizarre, princess-like dress
2. Her new boyfriend, Jamie Linden!

The New Girl star lost out in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category, as the bulk of the 200 people who watch Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Veep are apparently also Emmy voters.

Still, she's a winner in the romance department.
