Karen Sjoden, a 49-year old who claimed she was working as a private investigator, was arrested early yesterday morning for trespassing on the property of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.

Police say the woman was discovered hiding under cushions on the couple's deck at approximately 5 a.m., with a spokesman adding: "She was placed under private person's arrest and was transported and booked at BHPD for trespassing and prowling."

Bail has been set at $200,000.

Why such a high figure? Because Sjoden appears mentally unstable.

Authorities found a "rambling letter" on her person, one that referenced Hillary Clinton, Dolph Lundgren, Warren Buffet, telepathy and aliens.

Said Sjoden's daughter, Kayle, to Radar Online: "It doesn't surprise me about Ellen DeGeneres because she's mentioned people in her conspiracy theories before... no one took it seriously because she was never a harm to anybody. Now, it's obvious that she needs treatment for her mental issues."

Dancing With The Stars producers aren't quite ready fora same-sex couple on the ballroom floor after Portia de Rossi didn't pan out, according to reports.

"If Portia agreed, this would have been a done deal," an ABC insider says.

Ellen DeGeneres' actress wife "was the only star that really could have pulled this off without completely offending the program's conservative viewers."

Ellen still dances a lot on her show, at least.

Portia was rumored to be going Dancing next year, but turned down overtures from the network for unknown reasons. As a result, the show "isn't in a rush to have a same-sex dancing couple just to get attention and publicity."

The show has a soft spot for stunt casting - Kate Gosselin and Bristol Palin are just the newest, best examples - but DWTS isn't out to push the envelope.

Is Portia DeGeneres considering joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars next season? If and when she does, would she be given a same-sex partner?

Phoning in this morning to Ryan Seacrest's radio show, Ellen DeGeneres' wife discussed both possibilities. She didn't confirm anything, nor did she pass.

"They're planning to feature a same-sex couple. You're at the top of the list," Ryan told her. "Goodness, you really do break news," she replied, startled.

"I'm not gonna pass, let me think about it," the Arrested Development star said. "I used to be a ballet dancer, it's not completely a pass. You never know."

DWTS producers are keeping close tabs on the Israeli version, which is about to feature the first same-sex pairing in any of the international  editions.

If that goes well, we could see a similar move in the U.S.

Portia, who's been making the rounds to promote her new book, Unbearable Lightness, said she's gotten "more honest and open about my sexuality."

Being on Dancing With the Stars with a woman would certainly be a step in that direction. What do you think of the idea of same-sex partners on DWTS?

"Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married tonight in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles," their spokesperson said in a statement, confirming the plans Ellen had announced on her talk show in May.

DeGeneres and de Rossi each wore Zac Posen and exchanged rings by Neil Lane during the Saturday ceremony. Nineteen guests were in attendance.

We now pronounce you wife and wife: Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.

According to reports, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi will get married this weekend in California.

Us Weekly was the first to run the story, stating that the couple is planning an intimate ceremony with only a few close friends and family.

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres are on track to be pronounced wife and wife.

Following the California Supreme Court's historic ruling that same sex couple's have the "right to marry," DeGeneres announced she planned to wed the former Arrested Development actress on a taping of her show in May.

"It's something that we've wanted to do and we want it to be legal and we are very, very excited," DeGeneres said.

de Rossi and DeGeneres may have company at the altar this weekend. Other reports have said Beth Ostrosky and Howard Stern were set to tie the knot on Saturday.

On the day the California Supreme Court overturned that state's ban against gay marriage, Ellen DeGeneres announced on her talk show that her and longtime partner Portia de Rossi have plans to wed.

The former Academy Award host made the declaration during a taping of an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday. It airs today.

De Rossi, who was in the studio, and DeGeneres received a standing ovation from the audience. Allow us to now join that crowd in congratulating these two love birds.

Conversely, allow us to extend condolences to Anne Heche. It's been a rough week for Ellen's ex. Her show, Men in Trees, got canceled; she then said she could not afford alimony payments to Coley Laffoon; and now this.

Of course, Heche is straight now. So maybe she wishes Ellen and Portia the best.

Ellen DeGeneres is happy.

She's got a hit talk show, will be hosting the Academy Awards soon - and, oh yeah, has a really hot, loving girlfriend in Portia de Rossi.

DeGeneres tells The Advocate in its new issue that she's reached a different level of contentment with her actress girlfriend of two years.

"I could say the same thing I've said in every relationship: 'I'm happy.' But there's happiness and there's love, and then there's completion," the Emmy-winning talk-show host says. "It doesn't take away from any of the relationships that I've had, 'cause I've had amazing relationships. ... But I feel like I found my perfect fit."

One of her ex fits, Anne Heche, has moved on once again recently.

One key to their happiness, says DeGeneres, is that they learn things from each other.

"She's taught me lessons about myself, and I feel like I've taught her," says DeGeneres.

"We've both changed and grown, and we just feel like, 'Oh, OK, this is completion.' "

Sort of like how Tara Conner used to feel about alcohol.

In September 2005, de Rossi told The Advocate that her relationship with DeGeneres was "very loving, peaceful," adding, "I really feel not alone for the first time in my life."

Sadly, the Oscars hosting gig means Ellen won't get to walk the red carpet with de Rossi. But actually, that's okay, says DeGeneres:

"When we're together and she's in her heels, I always feel like Tom Cruise next to Nicole Kidman."
