Valerie Harper, Former TV Star, Diagnosed with Terminal Brain Cancer
by Hilton Hater at . Updated at .Valerie Harper, a beloved former television star best known for her roles on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda, has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
Harper tells the latest issue of People that she received the news on January 15, as tests confirmed she has contracted a rare disease called Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis.
Physicians say she only has about three months to live.
"I don't think of dying," says the 73-year, who also dealt with lung cancer in 2009. "I think of being here now."
