Piers Morgan Deportation Petition: Rejected By White House!

by at . Comments

Despite more than 100,000 virtual signatures demanding it, the U.S. government has denied a petition from gun advocates to deport CNN host Piers Morgan.

The petition started in response to British-born Piers Morgan's gun control rant was posted to the White House's We the People forum last month.

Morgan has been even more outspoken than usual in the aftermath of the massacre that killed 26 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Earlier this week, he clashed it Alex Jones in an epic interview ... or whatever that was. Bottom line, people petitioned to throw him out of the U.S.

The Obama administration responds to any petition with 25,000 signatures, and therefore, issued a statement on Morgan and his 1st Amendment rights.

"Let's not let arguments over the Constitution's Second Amendment violate the spirit of its First," stated White House press secretary Jay Carney.

"President Obama believes that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms. However, the Constitution not only guarantees an individual right to bear arms, but also enshrines the freedom of speech and the freedom of the press - fundamental principles that are essential to our democracy."

"Americans may disagree on matters of public policy and express those disagreements vigorously, but no one should be punished by the government simply because he or she expressed a view on the Second Amendment - or any other matter of public concern."

As of this post, the petition to oust Piers has 109,334 virtual signatures - however he offered to self-deport, Romney-style, if U.S. gun laws don't change.

What do you think? Is it time for stricter/more gun control?

you hardly hear this kind of killings that happens in America in any other part of the World where Guns are not legalize. American die a lot through these kinds of rampage bcos everyone could get a Gun very easily. Finally, as a democratic country, everyone including Morgan has the right to express himself.

I always have to slap my forehead at the absurdity of those who discard the first half of the 2nd Amendment, as if it were not part of the Bill of Rights. "A well-regulated Militia being necessary for the security of a free State ...." What follows is the apodosis to this protasis, and cannot stand alone. The fact is plain: given the Founders' justified fear of a standing army, they opted for a militia to stand for the DEFENSE OF THE STATE, not FROM the state. Just as the Constitution provided two specific exclusions for Habeas Corpus:
"The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it." [Art. I, Sect. 9, Clause 2], habeas is paramount except in "Cases of Rebellion or Invasion". Guess what? The Second Amendment provides a first line of defense against the same two threats. It might be worthy of note that the bulk of the gun enthusiasts are citizens of those states that chose to rebel. Coincidence?

@ProudPrimate:
I feel the need to quote this every time someone says it's "their right under the constitution"…then I want to add "so what STATE are these nut cases defending?"

Haha, for a country that bangs on about freedom and obsesses over democracy and those darn commies, comments like yours are hilarious. Democracy? Yeah but only for us.

It is so pathetic and sad that some Americans still don't get it! If more guns for the schools or any other places, then when is this going to end?? It will be like a war zone. I am glad that I don't live in a country that you can't even feel safe to walk into a cinema or shopping mall without worry about some crazy fellow random shot innocent people or putting your own kids to school thinking that, that is the safest place. I really feel sorry for those Americans that who wanted the Government to stop these crazy crime, but sad to say that the voting for No to guns are getting weaker. What have the world has be come???
